After a season full of—in the immortal words of Meredith Marks—“ruuumors and nastiness,” the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season-four finale had to deliver, and deliver it did.
Fans of the Housewives franchise are calling it one of the best episodes of all time. The scene of the cast on the beach is receiving comparisons to Big Little Lies. It's clear that, like Vanderpump Rules before it, the RHOSLC finale seemed to transcend the usual Bravo-sphere, captivating social media through memes and reactions. But what, exactly, happened?

What happened in the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 4 finale?
The finale starts out with a montage of the cast members yelling at one another. About what? Who's to say? It all culminates in a moment when we hear Heather Gay say, “I can't believe that it's her.”
Then we flashback to eight hours earlier, when the cast is still in good spirits. They ride Vespas and shop, and the biggest cliff-hanger for the time being is whether Monica Garcia's credit card will be declined at a boutique (it's not).
Luckily, we don't have to wait too long before the big reveal.
Heather hosts a dinner, with tables arranged in triangular formation to not so subtly symbolize the Bermuda triangle. In classic RHOSLC style, they play a game distinctly designed to drum up drama: Ask one of your castmates/frenemies about an “unsolved mystery” about them.
Heather then drops the bomb: Monica isn't who she says she is. Heather claims Monica “really doesn't want to be our friend. [She] wants to profit from our lives and our pain.”
Again, we flash back—this time to the already iconic beach scene of Heather, Meredith, Whitney Rose, and Lisa Barlow on the beach. Heather had received a call confirming something she suspected about Monica.
